Amp 2 each voice coil???

Is this possible? To hook a seperate amp up to each voice coil or to hook a 2 channel amp up to it? i heard someone talk about it and never though it was possible
Yes, and you don't have to match gains...but you should match bandwidth of the amps outputs (ie. if one amp is crossed @ 100hz with a 12db/oct electrical slope the other should match)

YOu have to match the gains. If one is slightly higher than the other, one coil will be worked harder.
What are you talking about.....I have no idea what one coil being worked harder means or how that applies to how dual coils interact within a speaker. Do you understand how a dual voice coil works?

DVC = 2 Voice Coils. sorta

If the gains are not exactly the same, one of the two coils will be pushed harder than the other one.

LoL ok well another ?...What if i have a 2 channel amp? can i send a seperate channel to each coil? Or is that worse..I dont think i will end up doing this, But we will see what it does! haha, hopefully no smoking or any of that :)

If you want to hook up 1 amp to each coil make sure the crossovers are set the same then play a test tone at a low volume, then put a dmm on the sub output on one amp and see what its putting out, then do that for the other amp, then adjust the gains until they are the same.
