Do you really need that many batterys for 4kw? A simple D3100 or 2 will do the trick, but yes you have the right idea. Although you might want to strap the amps if they have a master/slave option.

Yes It's called Parallel. If you want 60 volts wire them in series.

I wish I could find Powermasters or Kinetiks for a decent price.

I didn't plan on strapping the amps, just running one amp per sub.

You can buy a powermaster d3100 off jegs.com for $3XX shipped, if you plan to run the amps as you say you are, make sure you get a very accurate voltage meter and make sure both amps are putting out the same amount of volts if the woofers are in the same common space enclosure.

Hmm. Would I be better off strapping them?

One D3100 would do the trick, but it would probably be cheaper for me to buy the 4 Orbitals. I'm in Canada and shipping isn't free here.

having a common ground is gonna happen. So all that really has to be not shared is the power wire.

I was always taught ,"Ground, is ground, is ground." It does not matter where its hooked up to, a ground, is a ground. (of course there are varying degree's, like a chassis ground or negative terminal ground, but its still a ground)

Yeah sorry guys. I was more concerned with getting the batteries right.

I dont want to do buss bars as I'm afraid something will hit both at once and boom.

So I just run it from the front battery, to the battery bank. then Positive to amps, ground to amps, right?

I've never done multiple battery setups, or negative runs so this is all new to me.
