Am I insane?

So my friend moved into this new apt. The living room has in-wall speakers that connect...nowhere. They're just there. They're old, but the drivers look okay. They apparently used to cost a pretty penny back in the late 80's (~$500). Am I insane for thinking that they might work in a car door? Could I even find an 8-ohm amp to drive them?

Are they actual seperates or plates? A lot of in wall speakers are plate mounted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

@subzero: I don't recall. I'd guess it was probably between 75-125 watts, but I didn't notice any markings indicating that.

@ramos: They are mounted on a plate with screws, so the woofer and tweeter will, in fact, separate.

@SPLaudio: Between my Semitic and Scottish heritage, and the fact that I just bought a truck, I'm not buying any new gear for a while. I just want to know if it can be done, here. My lowest cost option is to simply take the head unit and speakers from my car and put them in my truck (which is what I'll probably do). The in-walls would require an amp which I don't have so they wouldn't be my cheapest option.
