I was recently presented the opportunity to purchase a used Kenwood KVT-815 for $400. The unit is 1 year 10 months old. It requires the use of a external brain. I have never installed a unit with an external brain. Is it alot harder than installing a regular unit without one? And where do you normally install the brain? Does this sound like a good price, or is it a little high? It is in good shape from what I am told. I appreciate any help. Here is a link-

its not too much harder to install it, its just finding a place to hide the brain that is kinda difficult when you dont have much room like myself. i have the kvt 717 and i installed it myself, and im a newb... as the for the price not sure if its a deal or not... good luck either way

its better to not have a seperate brain unit if you can, a whole lot less hassle, i couldnt find a spot to put my brain so it ended up in the back with all the 20ft wires going throughout the truck

you have to run the radio tuner wire, a wire for the screen to brain and a thing of all the speaker wires and remote wires and power and what not

it is the same unit you listed
