Am I doing something wrong with this sundown

do you have a cutoff slope on the amp? i have never used a sundown amp but i know on my orion's if i have the slope @ 12db/octave instead of 24db/octave I can still hear some voices coming from my subs if I dont use the sub out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Yes it was too much of a coincidence for me that both amps did teh same thing. But I did send the Arc back and they confirmed it was broken and did the repair but I never hooked it up. So I was almost 100% convinced it was my error somewhere. I have all of the knobs set correctly. i was wondering if there was a button that bypassed teh LPF or something that I was unaware of. I will figure it out when I get home. Try another amp and if it does the same then I know its a wiring issue of some type. I will report back but thank you for all of the input. I'm pretty sure it's not the HU's outout or anything related since the LPF should take care of what is not functioning correctly.

That's what I was thinking

It shouldn't matter, he's trying to use the sub amps LPF. The LPF if basically the last filter the signal runs through before the sub. The LPF on the amp pretty much has to be the problem.

I agree and that's what bothers me. Can't think of what i did wrong though. Second lightning strike in same place is unlikely. I will test tonight until I figure something out.

if two amps did the same thing, i'm 90% sure its an install issue

the SAE 1000d will reproduce any signal it gets up to 350hz, so unless your using the sub outputs on your HU you will hear some voices playing through the subs... make sure that your plugged into the sub outputs and check your deck settings...

I think I found the problem. I had done as you said and made sure I was using the sub outputs from the HU. But I htink I had them plugged in wrong to the amp. I had one on the amps input and one on the amp's output. Not sure how that got by me but I guess I was paying attention to other things. I don't understand how that could cause the problem but I think it did. Will check out better tommorow but I think that was it.
