Am I being over-protective? (Going to clubs)

Alright, so we decided to go to a local club a couple nights ago, celebrate my birthday and what-not.

A couple minutes before we get there, I of course turn down my music.

But, as I drive by the parking lot, I see a group of thrifty looking people standing out side, watching almost like they're waiting for a nice car to break into. Since this club isn't really in the best of cities, I had the second best looking car there (Unless the other guy did some stuff to his engine, he was a ricer, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif).

I just keep driving by, and I park a couple blocks down, where I know there's a security camera. Of course in the view of it.

Was it kind of over the top to park that far? For people that go to clubs, what do you guys usually do?

I get valet to park my car, and they park it right next to the club where people are always outside or in a gated area and besides my pos would be parked next to BMWs and better cars or ricers (which seem to attract the most attention) so i feel safe. Otherwise id have to park in the dark where i see potential for people to steal my ride. =[

Next time, just hitch a ride =]

just call a taxi...and extra 12-15$ that night is worth having a good time and not worrying about your ride all night long.

Well, this town is kinda crappy. We don't really have Taxi's, unless we get them from like...2 hours away. So that's really not happening.

The clubs don't have valets, atleast not any I've been too. And like I said, it's a small, crappy town, so my car was literally the nicest proforming car, and second best LOOKING car (ricer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif) in the whole lot when we got there. And I'm sure if his car got broken into, they'd hit mine, too.

Do you have an alarm? Yes I know its no guarantee but they do at least help thwart amateur theft.
