Am i about to get fired?

learn to count or quit pocketing the money....i worked at wal mart for three months never was the till off and i never counted when i came on shift...and more than two people used the same register without it being counted but it was in lawn and garden.....

Here is the deal. To be held held legally responsible You have to count down your own till, your manager can not count it down unless you are there with them otherwise you can NOT be held responsible. I have had this debate with many managers. As far as a company even firing you depending the state it could be illegal for them to fire you for that. Even here it indiana it is a state that they can fire you for no reason, but not the wrong reason so you could fight it if you got fired for that. I cant even count on all my fingers and toes how many times I have seen MANAGERS stealing... Even a few times pinning the wrap on an hourly. Make sure you count it when you get it WITH the manager present, Then when time to turn in count down with them there or if they want to count it down make sure you are present. Period! They can't refuse to let you be in the room when your drawer is getting counted down unless they are looking for a lawsuit when you get fired... Remember, Even major corporations violate laws on the main office level, so I assure you on a more often than not , on a local basis the local managers don't know the laws

That just depends on your managers/employees/ location believe it or not

At home depot everyone has their own till, no one is allowed to use anyone else' till, so that way if the shit goes down it wasn't anyone else but your self who was responsible, but i have Never been short and i have worked there part time for over a year now.

Just count your money 3 times, once when you start, write it down, then mid day when no customers, then again at closing.

Cant go wrong there..

Just dont **** up. Easy as that.

In my job Im running around a parking lot with $4,500 cash some nights trying to count it, sell tickets, refund tickets, and move traffic. I never come up short.

Try not *******. Where exactly do you work?

It has to be another employee. I worked at one store for a good 5 years, me and another supervisor got one employee fired because we would grab 5 dollars out of their registers at night. They couldn't cash out, so they had no way to say otherwise, so the fourth or fifth time one of us handed in a short drawer for them, they were done there. It's bad, yeah, but if you're sure that you aren't miscounting, that's the next logical step. It doesn't just disappear.

I say, count your drawer yourself before you hand it in. Count it after anyone else touches it. It's going somewhere. And it should go without saying, but be very careful with you're change. It'd look pretty bad if you make an issue out of it then discovered you were actually off, hah.

stores dont really want to pay anyone anymore, so maybe you should start considering what you're gonna do if you do get fired.

good luck

Tell them you are willing to pay whatever is short out of your pocket. Why would offer to do that if you were stealing and how could they fire you? Then just do what other said by counting the money whenever you have a chance and being there when the manager counts. If you want this job it will be easy to keep, you act like you are already fired.

Employment at will. You can be fired for any reason. If your manager thinks you are stealing, even if you're not, they can legally fire you unless you can prove some kind of discrimination. unless it's different in your state

Just every now and then don't give someone's change back completely, like forget .25 here and there, it'll add up in a few hours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
