How are these suppose to do in a ported box? Doing a new build and looking for SQ>SPL but my box is made specifically to fit my trunk and don't want to rebuild that. i think its aprox 2 cubes with tuned to 33hz.

To be honest I am not sure. I have heard mixed reviews. Some say they are designed best for sealed enclosures. But I have seen a few in ported enclosures that did fine. I was kind of wondering myself if I could make it work in a ported enclosure.

This was a response I got on DIYMA.

"A pair of ported Alchemy 12's was one of my favorite setups I've ever had. Forget what everyone says about running these only sealed - they can sound incredible and get loud in the right ported box.

A 2.0 cubic feet (after port and driver displacement) box with 20 in^2 of port area at 36.5" length will make that sub rock."

So you might be in that ballpark

i am getting a RE dts 1000.1 this weekend from a friend i think the pair could make a good combo ... i may be getting in touch with you about this if i end up getting that amp.
