i have a 03 chevy avalanche im starting a system in... i have a 105 amp alt but thers also a 145 amp alt for my truck.... can i upgrade to the 145 with out any problems?

yes, lots of people upgrade to a lot higher then that...I'm running 270 and people have 300+

It's not the high output that causes problems it's a high voltage alternator. One that will charge at 16+volts, stock/12v batteries don't like that

If you watch the "for sale" sections there are high powered Chevy alt's that come up all the time (200A-320A).Those parts are pretty common.

As for the original question you should be ble to do a direct swap for the 145A alt.I would not run out and buy one until I looked into a used one.New high power alts are expensive.
