Finally got the money for one of the two. My car currently has a stock 90amp alternator and I have two interstate batteries. Which should I get first a better battery for the back, or alternator? Would be an Iraggi 200amp alty, or Northstar 75. Help me out!!!!

Always get a HO alt first. I hate it when people will spend money on batteries and try to run 3-4k watts. and then wonder why they got voltage drops to 10v on a stock 90amp alt. Please spend the money on a good alt.

Batteries are really something like a temporary fix.. w/out a HO alt.

next question... Can either get 200amp@70amps idle OR 180amps@120amps idle..... 180amp is $70 more. Is that the one I should get?

i was wondering the same thing just recently. I personally didnt know that i had to get a better alternator as well as batteries.

If im running around 1500 watts constanlty, does that mean that i have to have 2 new batteries (yellow top batteries i think were the ones), one for the subs, and one for the car, as well as a new alternator??

How much would the alternator that i need cost me, and how much would the batteries run me? basically, which size battery and alternator would i need for maximum performance.

dang this stuff gets expensive.

go with the 180amp one. its only 20 amp less at full tilt but 50 more at idle. You will use the extra 50 at idle. thats why its $70 more.

What amp are you using? Also how big is your stock alt? If you do the big 3 in 1/0 and upgrade your underhood battery to a good deepcycle, depending on your amp you might be alright with just that.

ok well im doing the same thing but Iraggie i have heard some bad things bout them.

there is a tread somewhere on here about them and it doesnt look too fun.

I have a stock 90 amp alt. I just put in a new yellow top optima today.. My LIGHTS stopped dimming.. =).. definately made a difference.

Alt...then get rid of the interstates and put an optima, northstar, or odyssey under the hood...then later another big boy in the trunk

Don't really have a dimming problem. But the hk4000's voltage drops pretty low. I couldn't imagine what it'd do if I only had one battery.

I haven't really heard much bad about the Iraggies but I did contact EA and I think I'm probably leaning towards them. I'll decide tonite, just waiting on another question to be answered. Oh yeah EA give 3months warranty vs. Irragi 1month

You should really stay away from EA. Do a search for their name on here. A lot of people have had a lot of problems with them. One of the best you can go with is MeanGreen. Great reputation and great product. Also Ohio gen. makes another great HO alt. They are a little higher priced. Just try a search on here first. and make sure you do your research.
