What is the better of the brands, and I would prefer to have good/great quality equipment buh I'm not wanting to spend an arm an a leg for good/great quality.

Xs for batteries in my opinion, but they're expensive.... For a alt I would look at excessive amperage. That's what I'm getting. Whats your budget and what kinda power you making?
