Alternatives to IDMAX

Well, since it's very hard to find an IDMAX 12D2V3 used (I keep getting beat by seconds when they do pop up), I guess it's time to look at other alternatives.

The box is going to be sealed, 1.3cu ft or less. My budget is around $250-300 shipped, new or used. If used, it has to actually appear for sale unlike the IDMAX.

The amp I have is a Soundstream Piccasso 1.900D pushing - 900-1000w into 1 ohm.

Should I really just wait as long as it takes to find an IDMAX or is there anything comparable in both SQ and SPL to them in a small sealed box? I've searched a lot and people say good things about Fi and such, but there always seems to be a qualifier such as "Fi is comparable, BUT the idmax is better."

What would you do in my situation?

How about looking for a JBL W12GTI MKII ora polk audio SR12, both great sounding subs with solid output.

On a side note, I won't be able to build a new box until Sept. 18th.

Will it harm the IDMAX to run it in a box that's a bit too small until then (I won't be blasting it)?

I have a sealed box that is 1cft before the driver displacement, so it'd be around .86cft after the IDMAX.

Will that harm it as long as I don't go crazy on the volume?

wont hurt it but bottom end will be restricted

I know its already too late, but this is a great suggestion. Id like to try some Gti's out myself.
