I need help with a weird issue. Yesterday I was trying this amp in my car everything worked good. I put my rear seat up and I guess my 4 channel amp touch the sub amp(im sure it was the top of each amps that touched or else i would of seen sparks)and all of a sudden i herd a weird burr burr sound coming from the sub so i turn the radio down and later I herd that annoying alternater whine.Today I troubled shooted the components and realized that both my amps wont turn of even if my radio is off. i keep getting weird popping noises and buzzing. everything was in good working order before. i need help or ideas on trying to figured out the solution. thanks in advance.

almost sounds like the deck. disconnect the remote wire and test for 12v with deck off also disconnect rca's from amp and see if noise continues. if so disconnect speakers and hook up test speaker (one not installed in the car). Also I have a mini amped speaker I picked up from radio shack. It helps a lot with this type of prob, nice thing about it is its totally seperate from the vehicle, so untainted. just hook it up to the rcas and see if the noise is coming from there.

well, if the amps touched, and power touched a amp chassis, you can damage IC's inside the amp by having voltage on teh signal ground. that will cause all kinds of noises.

test #1: hook up a portable player directly to the amp inputs (with other inputs disconnected) if the noise goes away, you can suspect the HU.

i suspect teh amps are damaged. you need to be more careful with amp mounting.

crossoverOre thanks for the suggestion.. taht sounds like a good nifty little gismo. and for keep_hope_alive **** i wish i would of tought of the whole thing of connecting my ipod trough the rca's of the amp when i was troubleshooting the system. lol i tried to hook a speaker directly to the HU so i know the internal amp is not messed up.

so today that i had time i swithced up the rcas but i was still getting that whine noise and i knew it had to be my radio. thank you everyone that reply and the helpfull suggestions.
