Hey guys, Im about to switch out the deck in my 03 Non Bose/Non Onstar Silverado. I dont want to buy the GM Class II wiring harness as to I dont care about the chimes, actualy dislike them. I bought this thing for my Pontiac once and regretted the $100 investment. Anyone know the alternate wiring harness that I can use that doesnt include the chimes?

any audio shop should have a cheap harness...but you lose the chime, and things like the radio staying on until you open the door. another thing you can do is to wrap up the chime box with tape...i was actually able to take the cover off and put tape on the inside. i honestly cant remember how i did it but the after effect is very little chime. my wiring is the periphrials one.

Yeah you can just use the harness for the earlier GMs. Shouldn't be more than $20. Only thing is, your car's harness does not have a switched ignition wire -- so you're gonna have to run one from either the fuse panel or the ignition wires (should be pink).
