Altenator wiring and amp power

Ok so I have a 61 Impala that I am putting a system into. I will have a 1/0 gauge wire to the back split to a 4g wire to my Audison AV5.1k amp and an 8g to a smaller 160w alpine amp.

Now here is my question, I have my charging system wired as it is in the pic I have attached, including all the wire gauges mentioned in it. Not mentioned is the size of the wire from the batt+ to the starter...That is 4g as is all my grounds....batt to chassis, chassis to engine block.

Will the charge system be enough for the load my battery will put to the stereo?

In older vehicles like this as you may know its ideal to keep the battery and alternator hooked to the starter, but adding an extra wire from alternator to battery will help vehicle starting faster and constant power from system.

Unless you plan to wire your amp to MAD CN-1 then leaving as is would be fine.

Just change the fusible link to 8 gauge on ST-1

Or would it be bad to connect to the MAD dist block labeled CN-1 for my amp power and just bump up the wire size from the alt to the dist block CN-1. I have other accessories hooked up to this as well, including my old 160w alpine amp until I rewire it all.

What is the actual reason to wire the amps directly to the battery?

This whole system they say is to always have 14v at the list point CN-1 for all accessories. the 10g wire from CN-1 to the starter, then the battery cable from the starter to the battery is what charges the battery and the battery is only used to start the car. All other sources are run off the alt through CN-1.

How would connecting a wire from the alt to battery help starting? Not doubting it just don't get how it would more than it is wired now.

My concern is that if I hook the amp directly to the battery as most everyone says to do, when the system puts a load on the battery the charge wire will not be suffice as in the current setup it is only setup to maintain the charge not power the car and accessories.

If you wire the amp straight to the battery it will be able to keep a constant pull of power compared to connecting say at the starter where the power splits before getting to the amp.

The wires you chose which are 4 gauge lose current capacity as the wire starts to get smaller as it travels to the starter and alt from your picture.

The current configuration is enough to start the car and keep it running, but any power pulled will cause a battery to drain quickly.

If you place a higher gauge wire from the alt to battery then the distance for current will be shorter and allow a constant feed to the battery while still giving the little needed power for the car accessories thru the stock location wires.

Again like said above it will help the battery stay charged while the amps put a load on the battery.

Adding a second battery and bigger alternator will help lessen power dropping.
