alt voltage problems

I have a Mechman 250a Rhino series. I have to revv it about 100-200rpm more than idle to put out what stock did @ idle but that's okay. PROBLEM is all this week my alt has been going a little crazy. I use to revv it a little b/c i couldn't use the a/c without dropping into the mid 13s.(at idle) Stock alt I could have the a/c on and stay at 14.2 without revving. A few nights ago I turned on the a/c and i started to dip into mid-low 13s while keeping at 800 (engine rpm) TODAY I started the car and it was ideling with a voltage of 12.8 and steady dropping unless I revv it to about 1k engine rpm and it gets to maybe 13-13.4 without system on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I need to revv to about 2k engine rpm to make the voltage stay at 14.0 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I currently have Knuconceptz Kollosuss 0g for both ground and alt to battery. I already upgraded the battery ground, and engine ground in 0g. It's been installed for about a month and last week it started the symptoms. I took it off and shipped to Mechman today to have a look, had to be the alt b/c voltage is fine with stock. I did notice that it seems to get quite a bit hotter than stock and it's smaller. Does anyone think that's the reason for it getting so hot? Hopefully he'll fix it soon and stays fixed. Oh and before I forget I made sure to charge the batteries BEFORE I installed the ho alt.

What's the highest voltage I can run in my car without messing anything up?

Stock 14.9 cold 14.6-14.8 hot

Mechman 15.2 cold 14.4 hot

I just didn't get why mechman's wouldn't go past the 14.4 when the stock did hot

To add having to revv soo much dropped gas from 19 to 16.4. Is that normal? Stock has been in for a bout 2 days and gas is back up to 18.1 for now.

Get an external voltage regulator, and possibly you might need a smaller pulley on your alternator. It never hurts to make sure your vehicle's cooling system works real good. You can upgrade your radiator fans or get an aluminum radiator, you could even re-run your air conditioning lines around the alt to keep it cool. Could put a small amp fan near it. Etc.

@ dappa5 What do you mean "sounds electrical"? Everything is fine when the stock is in. But I have a SAZ 3000D and a kicker 650.4 stock battery, and deka 9a31 in the back by the amps. Mechman should receive it wednesday according to tracking, so I'll let you guys know what the verdict was on what went wrong.
