250A x 13.8V = 3450W

So if he is using more than 3450W then his batts will be using more power than his alt can recharge them with. Is that not right?

ALt will still keep up with charging.... I know guys running 4kw on a single G31 with a G31 under the hood. He'll maybe draw ~250amps to play 3kw if even. He has enough battery for 3kw and then some.

Well I guess I should have said '3kW of continuous power'.

Granted you won't be using full power at all times which will let your alt catch up.

still.. He'd need to have closer to 5k before his alt really struggled. I ran 7kw on a 200amp Powermaster and 3 G31's for almost a year with no problems.. Alt would only drop to 13.6v and amps would see 13.2v
