Alpine XT19 or Vifa XT25 (pics)

I have both Alpine Xt19s and the Vifa XT25(small format).

Which would you prefer and why. I plan to install one of these sets but i havent decided. They would be placed in my pillars and plan to mount them onaxis(probally driver side firing towards passenger and vice versa on other). 25ish watts tops.

I like my sound a little more mellow and not harsh at all naturally.., which is why currently I am running the Vifa D26s. I dont mind doing a little EQing if I have to.

I dunno if you followed the HAT thread at diyma....but I guess it doesn't matter as long as you don't cross them over less than 4k.

I don't know much between the two, to be honest. Do you have good depth either way? It looks like the xt19 is more shallow.

they would be in pillars. if i use xt25 glassing would be required a lot more than the xt19s due to me needing them onaxis an would stick out some.

if i use the xt19 id still glass some, but they will be behind a pillar and still be onaxis but will have a flush grill so it would be stealth and doesnt draw attention //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I run the XT25's and really like the sound. Not harsh at all, almost mellow sounding, but very detailed, so pretty much exactly what you're looking for. Cymbals sound very good, not like some tweets that sound like a pie tin. I cross mine at 3.5Khz.

You MUST get them on-axis though or they have way less output.

i'd do xt19's cuz unless the xt25's are going to be nearly on axis, you're going to lose some sparkle. they're pretty notorious for being pretty laid back tweeters. if that's the kind of sound you like then go for it.

just reread ur first post, i think if you can get the xt25's on axis, then go with them.
