Alpine x303 Installed: Front Speakers messed?

Hey guys, I'm not to mechanically inclined when it comes to car audio so you'll have no problem trouble shooting this...

Installed a Alpine X303 HU. Rockford fosgate Punch 400s (built in 2000) and a 12' sub.

The components were installed in a 1999 BMW 328is with HK sound system (speakers)

When everything was first installed, it was all good.

All of a sudden the front speakers (Left,Right) started to distort and crack on top of the sound coming out at Mid to HIGH volume ranges. The static-y sound is especially noticeable when bass notes come through them. The sound is similar to electrical sparking. The sound is fine at low vol. and the rears work fine as well.
