Alpine MRD-M1005

be able to push enuf power to power my...

Alpine SWX-1242D

rms at 1000watts, and also is a dvc 4ohm, meaning i have to run the amp at 4 ohm right??? so that amp would only push 500 watts?

am i thinking about this right...

if its 4 ohm DVC, you can run the amp at either 2 or 8 ohms.

ya that amp will run it for sure when you use that amp at 2 ohms it will send out 1000 rms and wire your subs also to 2 ohm..

Its the alpine version of the 1000/1

500 rms @ 4 ohm

1000 rms @ 2

i wouldnt buy that amp, i dont really like it, just my opinion though, you can get much better for the price if you shop around.

no no u will be giving the sub 500 rms when it wants 1000 not a good idea it will not be what i would do....get the alpine amp they are really decent and i disargee about the price they are cheap for what they do at ikesound.com

well it says it puts out about 1000w at 2 ohm tried running it at 1ohm clamped it did about 880 or something like that due to impedence rise it was somewhere around 2ohm dont remember exact.
