Alpine W505 and PXA-H100 question

Today i found out that my rca preouts for my w505 are shot

i am contemplating buying a new head unit, however i stumbled upon the PXA-H100

Can anyone clarify these questions for me:

1. When using the H100 imprint processor, it opens up a 5 or 7 band EQ for me to use on my head unit, and control through the head unit? (i think the answer is yes, just clarifying)

2. Connecting the H100 - being that my preouts on the head unit are shot, i need confirmation that the H100 connects to my head unit only through the Ai-net cable, and then my amp will be connected to the H100 rca preouts - thus making the blown rcas on my head unit a non issue (and upgrading to 4V preouts) because my amp no longer connect here?

This would be a cheaper solution than buying a new head unit because i am happy with this head unit.
