ALPINE vs RE vs ORION, GOT 15s?

I currently have 2 12" type-r's, i was just wondering what amp/amps you guys would reccomend? i currently have an alpine mrd-m1005 going to them 500w ea. i have the dual 2's.

If you're giving them 500 each, why the need to change. It should sound great...

try 2 find another alpine amp and do 1 on each. and for a n00b seein this wha n00b is gonna have an 2500d;) if we double the rms of the sx it may have been louder, btu sound like a$$. H2 i have had double the power on it and wha happen, new sub time:( the H2s were my fav sub, i loved them but the type r are louder and sound about the same, if not a tad bit better. now the real comparison will be the 2 15Rs ima do and vs the 2 15H2s. we will see who comes out on top. would of done 2 15SX but that isnt my choice of a musical sub, i need lil more sq than wha it gives and lil more lowend. its juss the sx get 2 hot 2 fast.

Yeah lets test out 4 different driver that require 4 different boxes and power requirements. Then try to say it was a valuable test... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yourock.gif.93d527d504392657a77fa577298070a1.gif
Lets not mention the type-r was powered with over double it's Rms. Try doubling the rms power on the SX or the H2...

Not to say the Type-r is not a good driver. But n00bies are going to come in here and think the Type-r is the best of these choices...
we do rock

anyway..

Please read the original post... the R handled the power BETTER than BOTH the others! The h2 was in its "optimum" box of 3 cube/30hz.... what a POS sub....

The sx just has 0 long term power handling... I've been around em quite a bit and this size/tuning is just about right for cruisin around. It will get lower in a larger box, but power handling only gets worse.

Impedence rise, voltage... each sub was seein no more than 1500 watts at full tilt. None of the above handled that power for any period of time... the h2 just blew up over time while the SX gets stinky almost immediately... the R DOES get stinky, but it takes about half a song cranked before that happens. Can't even get more than a few seconds in on the SX before it gets funky.

Flat out... the R is just a better pick.

uhrm... the 2 h2's with more power = the one R with less power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

2 R's with more power = owie

crap did i make the wrong choice? my SE shoud be here tue or wed.. i was looking for about 65% SQ and 35% SPL, shud i have gone with the type r? i have a jl 500/1..

i kno the type r is almost doin the same score that 2 12xxx and 2 2500d did.haha
So? Want me to explain how an install with a single DD 9510 did 169.7, putting your 15" Type R setup to shame? Would this mean the DD is -that- much better of a sub, or would it mean we were comparing different installs here rather than just raw drivers? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/idea.gif.5acb6a39a9b92425414c316dda202bad.gif

I bet you would be wasting time trying to explain this to them. I have fully given up on it and am now looking for a more intellectual/fun forum;)
