What if that box was optimal for that sub, tests like these dont show anything except what sub works well in which box...

I've been seeing a lot of hype on these type r subs lately, they must be pretty d@mn good then, yet I still can't imagine one owning an SX, I'd have to see it to believe it

4 cubes ~40hz, good all around box. The SX sounded ok in the box... but it gets stinky way too fast... this is true in *every* box and it gets old real fast.

The h2 was of course in its 3 cube 30hz box.

type r's are juss awesome subs. get very loud and sound awesome doin it. SX are loud also, but juss not very musical subs for long period of time. 2 show off the SX will do it, but for cruisin around and showin off 2 diff peeps 1 after the other, juss not happenin.

hey guys i have to 2 12"s r's, if i go with the 15 dual 2 ohm and run it off a 1000d , will it be louder than 2 12"s? what size box would you guys say for it? going in a trunk for SQL!! peace

the 15 can have a better low end, but the 12's will probably be louder @ a higher note.

All depends on the box and install.

Lets not mention the type-r was powered with over double it's Rms. Try doubling the rms power on the SX or the H2...

Not to say the Type-r is not a good driver. But n00bies are going to come in here and think the Type-r is the best of these choices...

A few months ago I heard the new 12 inch type-r in a q-logic ported box in the demo section at best buy...I walking into the stereo section I didnt think much of it because i was coming along to look at the products with my friend...after I was done listening to like 5 different setups...one of them being a pair of rockford fosgate 12's (dont know which model) I walked away suprised and shocked by the type-r //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

to me the type-r sounded the best and the deepest. from then I knew those things would be sleepers. Definately louder than my 13kv2. but then mines is in a 1.4 sealed box so its not a fair comparison.But yea...those subs really impressed me. Thanks for the review
