Alpine vs. Kenwood/Pioneer

I'm getting a new headunit and can buy a $250 certificate for $150 to a place that only stocks kenwood and pioneer headunits. I was gonna go with an alpine 9883, but I think this is an opportunity to look into. I want to control an iPod easily.

What would you do?

do they control iPods with them? that is my biggest issue, ease of use for an ipod.

u can control the ipod through the HU display? my hu only has aux in, and i control my ipod directly, its a hassle cuz i dont even like the ipod lol. hmmm thats something to look into on my next HU upgrade sometime down the road.
