Alpine vs. Eclipse?

I am presently using a top of th line Alpine 7554 cass head unit-it mostly sounds great, except the low end is WAY too damn mid-bassy and not real deep-bassed compared w/other head units I have. Compensating for it with EQ and x-over helps but not optimally. I have a chance to pick up an Eclipse 4502, but will it sound as good or better than my Alpine otherwise?
