What up guys i am about to do my system in my 94 supra, I am gonna do the alpine double din , alpine PXA-H701 Multimedia manager, 2 sets of alpine type x, alpine type x 12 (1), NOW......the amps i wanna go with pdx 1.1000 for the sub and pdx 4.150 which i have found for 629$ and 579$ for each amp. I can get the eclipse mono block DA7122 1200x1(950x1) AND 4 channel Eclipse XA4000 150x1(125x1) ALOT cheaper because i work for Circuit city. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with the eclipse amps i would be saving alot of money going with eclipse cause of a big discount. thanks for ur imput .. mike

I'd go Eclipse in a hearbeat. Those new amps and maybe even the 7XXX series too, not sure, are designed by Bang and Olufsen....same technology that is used in Audi systems I believe.

Alpine is solid...but IMO Eclipse makes the best price/performance amps in the industry. So if any CC employee wants to make some $$$ and buy me some Eclipse goodies...let me know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

ummm well ... the alpine pdx amps use the EXACT same ice technology by b&o just fyi.. and they were actually the first to start its implementation into car amp use.. the alpines are smaller and produce more power rms.. ive now listend to both imo the alpines were smoother and less fatiuging to listen to .. the new eclipses while they are very very nice im not saying they **** or anything like that just had a more in your face type sound... and they tended to be a little more harsh on the top end.. im actually going to use the pdx's now in a new project we are doing... awsome amps

also the new pioneer d-class full range use the very same exact ice b&o chip in those also...

and they are not designed by b&o btw either the technology is licensed by eclipse from b&o still designed and engineered ny eclipse not b&o

Cool...I did not know that...thx for edumacating us. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif You really think the PDX are that good huh?

well sorta.. what i mean is there is not where you will find a more efficient, smaller size wise, great sounding amp period.. not gonna happen at least not yet anyway.. and that will do these power levels.. not gonna happen even the eclipse amps are a decent amount larger than the pdx's are... the only problem i could tell with the pdx (also occured in the eclipse though so i think its part of the ice design) was a slight lack of oomph and control in the very lowest midbass areas..and even this was really not as bad as it sounds .. just hard for you without listening to hear what i mean

I hear what you're sayin. I do like the top mounted controls on the new Eclipse amps...as well at their overall look. But whoever put all the connections on the front really needs a severe beating!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I was actually contemplating running a XA5000 and the EA4000 to get 75w to the tweets and midranges, 150w to the midbass, and 450w to the sub...IF they had only put the connections on the back....it would look retarded with the amps mounted backward on the rack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thanks for those comments on that subject, I really am a huge alpine fan and as u can see i am going everything else alpine as well, I did my last car all alpine it was pretty nice. I just get such a great deal on the eclipse stuff and i really dont think there will be a huge difference in what i am trying to do i'd rather save over 800 bucks going with the eclipse amps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

some of the new eclipse are laid out well with plenty of controls and they are top mounted!!!

some of the new kickers are top mounted controls too, I wish all amps were that way
