Alpine System

Whats up guys. Just looking for some input on this new system I want to put together. And before you ask, I'm not a total newb but have been out of the game for a lil. I'm kinda done with the booming systems so I want to go with better sound quality.

Well I did a little research and decided to go with all Alpine for the simple fact that I already have Alpine components pushed with a MRP-F250. Here's the specs:

Subwoofer: 1 12" Type R Dual 4-Ohm

Amp: 500 watt mono (MRP-M500)

Box: want decent thump w/out sacrificing SQ so maybe 1.75 cu ft. ported

Wiring Kit: Kicker dual-amp kit w/ 4 gauge

Please critique me on my selections and any tips //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

get a bigger amp. the 12" r will laugh at you if you feed it 500 watts. i was giving my 10s 600 each and they wanted more. a 12 can safely take 800+ daily.

as far as the box, bigger. i would say at least 2.5 ported, bigger if you have the space for it.

why only do 4g? you will eventually change equipment and upgrade something, so spend a little more now and do it all in 0g instead of buying and installing wire twice.

you think the Alpine 1000 watt mono would suffice??

I thought factory specs for the type r was .75-1.75 for a ported??

And I just went with the 4 gauge cuz I don't plan on keeping my vehicle that I'm gonna install it in for long.

Thanx for the help!
