Hey there everyone,

This is another sub vs sub post, so i apologize now for it lol. The fight is between:

1) Alpine SWX-1243D Alpine SWX

2) Pioneer Premier Pioneer Premier

Im not looking for a price comparison but rather the specs, quality and which one outputs the beat better.

i cant speak on the pioneers, but I had 2 type x's 12's on 2 alpine pdx 1000.1 and man they were loud and sounded so good.. not a very spl sub so it wont get as low as lets say a HW or a NS!!!! but they are good subs on 1000-1200 rms!!

Oh man, didnt think about it when i was selecting them. Is there really that much of a difference?
It would be noticeable. The Type-X is considered a SQL woofer, whereas that Pioneer's main use is just pushing air. Though, I have been in a ride with the Premiers that sounded very accurate and flat. So, once again, install is crucial.

Do you want to get loud and bang? or are you more into sounding good and having a smooth response curve with minimal peaks?

Frankly I'd go Type-X, though i believe there is a Premier going for 85$ shipped in the classifieds. Pretty solid deal.

I heard one of the Pioneers and I just wasnt impressed. It is supposed to be like 1000rms, and I heard one with close to that and it just wasnt impressive to me. The box may not have been built to specs, or it just may need more than that to get moving being an spl sub

Thanks for all the information. I think i would just go with the Alpine type x and a PDX 1.1000 amp(recommended).

despite being an sq sub, the type x's get loud. I dont know why the Pioneer I heard wasnt loud. It was ran off a Fosgate amp, so it wasnt getting overrated watts. It was also flexing like crazy, I guess for how much it was flexing, I was expecting it to hit harder
