Alpine Spx-17pro **need input!!

Im going to order a set of Alpine SPX-17pro tonight. If anybody has a better suggestion of another set of components please let me know. Since I currently own the Type R and I am very happy with the soundQ that they put out Im sure the Type X pro will more than please me.

My current system consist of a

CDA-7998

PRS-d2000T 150WX2 (front stage)

SPR-17S

infinity basslink

Im going to swap out my current setup for

CD7200mkII

JL audio 300/2 (which I just ordered a week ago)

SPX-17pro (first choice)

basslink stays in setup

Focals, dls, cdt, mb quarts ect ect......... all make very nice splits in diff models to suit the class fd ice amp.

the type x's have gotten really good reviews so far, another option mite be to find a way to get those type r's more power...mine didnt wake up until i bridged my 4150xxk on em...(roughly 350rmsX2)...Once doing this i liked them better then my rainbow germainiums...just a thought

Those spx's should be fantastic. I haven't used them but i imagine they will be fantastic to go active with should you choose to do in the future.

Alpine SPS 170a. I have had them powered off of my head unit and sound great. Used them for about 4-5 years now. Very pleased with them. Never had any others, but am going to start looking at changing them, only because i want something different.

edit: just looked them up, didn't realize they were so expensive. Mine were cheap ones. You will probably be pleased with them.

I dont really have any input for the OP but thought he might be interested in this as well. How is the mid-bass and midrange response with these speakers?

I can tell ya that I've had a couple of sets of spx-177a's for 4 yrs now, have beat the hell outta them and they still sound great. I've powered them with a jl 300/4 alpine pdx 2.150 and lately a jbl 6 channel bridged @165wpc. They still impress on occasion, seem to be unbreakable.
