today i noticed my speakers makin a weird sound when i turned it up like 3/4. It made a weird rattle. At first i thought that the woofer was hitting my door panel when i turn the volume up. but after i took out my door panels i noticed that one of them was still making the notice.
I thought that the woofer was rattling but i disconnected the speeker and the woofer was fine. Plugged the tweeters back in again and then it made the noise again. So then i switched the - and + of the tweeter on the crossover and then it sounded good. but then the fuse on the crossover started lighting up (looked like its a bad thing) so i disconnected it. The tweeter was making a distorted bass noise.
The weird thing about it is that when i plug only the - wire to the crossover the speakers worked fine but when i also connected the + to the crossover the fuse started to light up again. Anybody know anything about this? So the only way for me to have it sound normal is to connect only the - wire of the tweeter to the crossover and leave the + unconnected. Anybody wanna help? thanks
BTW its the alpine spx-177a's. I just installed it on sunday morning.
