Alpine Speakers

I really like the type R over the type S.
Me too. They don't even compare to each other imo. The Type-Rs are great. To me the S speakers lack low end, and have too much high end, and they can't handle as much power.

well my system has a alpine deck a Type R 12 the amp for the sub and a cap and i gotta get 4 speakers dunno what alpine ones i want and there gonna be amped most likely and say i buy the speakers 1st and have no amp will that wreck them? my deck does 27x4rms

what speakers are better the Type R Or The Type S just in the 5x7s and 6.5s
First, i a HUGE alpine fan. Trust. I have a cda-9857, a mdr-m1005, and i just ordered a 12" type x to replace my two 10" type-rs. HOWEVER. from what ive seen there is better out there, for less even. Dont get to caught up in brand name. Its no diffrent that pc parts. AMD wins sometimes, Intel wins sometimes. Nvidia bests ATI........sometimes. If you just wanna have the sentence in your mouth that "I have an alpine system" then by all means. As i said i LOVE alpine. But let me tell you why. They have one of the best subs for SQ out there. The type-x. (remember boys i work for uncle sam so i have a budget i know there is better) Also they have awesome amps. Got one. I know. I know they have outstanding HU. Got one. I know. Hands down alpine continues to impress me. I am, however not so euphoric that i dont see what is written on the wall. There are MUCH better speakers to be had. If you want to match your subs and your speakers, have a ball. However just like PCs (which if you cant tell is my thing) frankenstiens offer the most bang for your buck. Dont get locked into brands. Im not saying in any way shape or form that alpine cannot produce amazing speakers, they can. What i mean to say is dont sell yourself short because they make everything else so well. Rainbow? MTX? Genesis? hell even the pioneer REVs are supposed to kick *** from here to high water. Dont get in a rut is all i am saying, buy what is best for you, because of what it does not who makes it.

i run the type r 6.5 components, along with 2 type r 12's. the components aren't too bad, not impressive either. there is definitely worse out there. i found it hard to fill the gap between the components and the subs at higher volumes. they play higher frequencies well but under 100hz they aren't as good. in hindsight i would have gone with polk. they are ok for now though.
