Alpine PXE-H650 - help!

I recently installed the following in my car - 2008 Ford Focus Stock Radio:

Alpine PXE-H650 Audio Processor

Alpine 5x7 components in front

Alpine 5x7 coaxial in back

Alpine 40wx4 amp to all speakers

Alpine Type S 12" Sub and

Alpine 500w mono amp

I was all excited to have this installed, and when I pick it up, it sounds worse than my stock system did! I played around with the PXE a little bit but it still sounds just OK. My front tweeters buzz sometimes, my bass sounds terrible (sometimes too loud sometimes too low), and the audio seems much stronger from the right side of the car. And its not loud at all.

I'm assuming this is a problem with the PXE. Both myself and the guy @ the installation place can't get it to sound right. Should I take it to an Alpine dealer or would I be better off returning the PXE and getting the RF 3Sixty.2

Would really value your advice.
