Alpine PDX Class D amps - How is the SQ?

I'm interested in the PDX-600.1.

I've honestly never been a fan at all of past Alpine amps (or their products in general). I'm just curious if they actually picked up the quality on the PDX amplifier line-up at all? Those things are super compact, how's the SQ?

Worry more about your woofer, and then worry about the amp. The PDX models are supposedly a new generation of build quality from Alpine, per their company marketing exec's.

I have a PDX-1.600. Birthsheet says 740W RMS. SQ is tremendous.

ive got the pdx 1.1000 powering a solobaric l7 15... plenty of power, gets pretty **** loud while retaining sound quality

Yup, no complaints concerning my PDX amps I just installed. They are mind-boggling small. I love it.

I am considering switching my JL 450/4 to an Alpine PDX 1.600 and 2.150. I need more power for my sub, but I am concerned about sound quality loss. My problem is I am extremely limited for space and no other solution provides this much power output in such a small footprint.

Lovely amps. I wouldn't swap out C2Ks either.

Yeah, I wouldn't put them on the level of Zapco, or other high end amps. I would say the only reason why you should consider "down grading" (I hate using that term because they are good amps) to the Alpine would be because you want smaller amps. I went from PPI PCX amps to these, for that sole purpose. Mind you, those particular PPI's aren't in the same class as Zapco, so it was a little easier for me to make that decision.
