Alpine pdx 1.1000

I am an alpine fan and use mainly apline stuff and sometime kickers but I am now setting up a new system all Alpine and purchased 2 pdx 1.1000 amps for my 2 SWX 1000 watts RMS. I wanted to get those last year but didn't. Last time i saw it the carried 4 20amp fuses, those I bought carries 4 25 amp fuses. Did Alpine do some upgrade or something to the amp, or did they just add higher amp fuses?

I would really like an answer to know if the amps were tampered with....... Thanks.

I bought themon ebay, they said brand new ad it looks brand new, no scratches nothing. Still in brand new box but you can tell the box had been opened a couple times.

iirc , they were having problems because of under fusing the old model. so the just upped it by 20 amps.

About 80% sure that was the only upgrade from old to new model.

Thanks JBL. I was thinking the same but just wanted to be cretain about this. I dod not want to hook this up and instead of blowing the fuse, it damages my amps. I noticed you also have a pdx 1.150 in your system. How does it work, what is the power like. It's my first time trying the pdx sieres. I've had the older alpine amps, which were just perfect and not once did I have a problem with them.

My system is something like this:

IVA 310 - Head Unit

SPR - 17s - Alpine speaker (4 pairs)

SWX 12" 3000 watts (1000 watts rms) - Subs

PDX 1.1000 - Amps (2)

PDX 1.150 - 4 channel

yes, the only difference is that the 4x25 is a newer model. i called them and asked when mine showed up with 25a fuses and the alpine site showed 20a.

i love my pdx amps. power is there with some to spare but i can't see the need for 2 type x each on a 1.1000. the single i run now has more bass than i need.
