Alpine MRVF353 5 channel amp - how much pre-out voltage can it take?

I have the Alpine MRVF353 5 channel amp, it's about 5 years old. I'm going to be upgrading the head unit I use but I was wondering how I can find out what the limit on pre-amp voltage is. Some of the eclipses and pioneers are 6.5v and 5v and I don't kow if it's too much. Also, would it really affect the quality that much on such a low end amp?
