I have an ALpine MRV-1507 pushing a Fosgate RFR3112. My problem is is that it doesnt sound like I thought it would. The specs on the amp say that it pushes out 600W RMS, and the speaker can handle 1000W RMS, 2000 Watts max. But when I crank it up, it does that 'clapping' sound in my car, but not my friends. His amp I think says the max is 2400 Watts, 800RMS. He has a brand new Pioneer head unit, and mine is Pioneer, but a couple of years old.
I just read about people owning this amp and saying that they are running 4 15's or something like that, but this doesnt seem to be able to handle one big 12... I have the 4 guage from the battery to the amp, 10 to the amp to the speaker... Do you guys think that maybe I need a new headunit? I am going to try and hook his up in my car, but thought that I could get a second opnion first... Thanks people
