Alpine IVA-W200 & 205: iPod usage?

W205: Screen display looks just like your iPod. Touch the screen to access playlists, artists, songs, etc. Very quick and easy. I love it.

Mine didn't. It had all the same info but it was NOT laid out like my iPod. My Pioneer D3 looks like my iPod and even had a virtual thumbwheel. Clarion's iPod screen takes it a step further and even the font is like the iPod.

Now, that doesn't mean the Alpine iPod interface is bad in the least. In fact, it's VERY easy to use. The ONLY downsides are you can't back one step out of menu like on the Pioneer and Clarion units and there's no iPod video capability with an Alpine but the Alpine has a slightly faster interface and you can do percentage searches.

weird, my w205 looks nothing like my ipod display...

still easy as hell to navigate though. and fast, and never messes up. i like mines //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

What I mean by that is on my nano, when you press menu you get a list that appears on the screen that looks kust like this:

Playlists

Artist

Album

Title

Search

When I got the iPod as my source and I press the little page looking button at the bottom that cues the menu, that list pops up with a button at the end of each choice. Touch the button and the next menu pops up, just like on my iPod (I.E. touch play list and all the play lists pop up.)

It navigates just like my Nano, and is pretty quick.
