I've owned & used the previous X100. Now I own & use the X305. Nothing has really changed in GUI or spec wise that I can tell. It's mostly cosmetics, and IMO for the best:) Buttons are easier to press, and have like a lip to the edges for "slip" resistance, nice IMO.

I have the X305 paired up with the iPod classic 120gb, H100 processor & the KCE-400BT bluetooth module. No new features with the H100 to my knowledge. Now the KCE-400BT is a different story, MUCH BETTER than the 300BT I used before. The 400BT can sync with my BB Curve easily, I had problems with the 300BT syncing up contacts & call info. Streaming media from my curve is very nice, if I shut the HU off and leave the car, come back and select BT AUDIO for source, it will pick up from where it was left off without pressing any buttons. I don't recall this working like this with the 300BT or I would have used BT AUDIO.

Ipod navigation is EXCELLENT as has been.

If only it was active...I know you don't get the best SQ from MP3s or any other compressed format really, but I would like to have control over my crossovers and equalizers and time correction, with better iPod controls than my 9835 and changeable colored buttons. That's all I ask for!!

I thought the Imprint unit only let you use the preset combinations? With the microphone doesn't the unit automatically set up your system? I didn't think you could customize anything yourself. So with Imprint, would I have the same features as my 9835???

If only you could play CDs too...
you can you just need to add some sort of player.

As for the HU I am totally in love with it. I had the x100 with the old BT with the Motorola stack and it was horrible and echo-y. I replaced the x100 with the x305 and the BT350 with the BT400 and it is fantastic. I just wiish I could figure out how to stream Pandora via my BlackBerry.

Right now, I have just finished the installation of my 6 Boston Acoustics speakers and Infinity Basslink II sub, ordered a HD radio unit and an imprint processor. I am happy so far. As for the CD issue, I decided to go mp3 after hauling a ton of CDs around for years and dealing with a changer. The cd you want is always in the car or in the house and you are not where it is. They never got put back in their sleeves, got scratched or melted or worse, and a simple iPod can fix all that and more! I dedicated my old 30gb iPod to the car, it stays in there unless I update stuff, and I got rid of all the xtraneous stuff like calendar and photos - its just a music file server.

My biggest complaint with 30 gb is how hard it is to find stuff!

talonted girl

Iam looking for the X305 as well, but I am owner of an old Ipod 30Gb (It was called Ipod Photo (no video)) and I think is 4G Ipod, Alpine compatibility cart shows no support for thhis Ipod... Anybody can confirm this? Which 30GB Ipod do you have? If an additional cable is required, will the HU work in the same way? (ArtCover will be displayed and music playing...as well as charging it)

thank you
