Alpine ida-x200 skipping

My alpine deck seems to be skipping quite a bit when playing on my ipod. It's not the USB cord because I replaced it and the problem still persists. It's not caused by any bumps in the road or heavy bass either, I could have the volume way down and be idling and it will still skip.

Sometimes it will skip backwards a song, but most of the time it will restart the current song. My ipod is a 3rd gen ipod touch.

Should I be getting the hi speed cord or is it something wrong with my deck?

You should get the full speed cable or talk to mossberg (jacob) the newer ipods arent supported with it i dont think but he got it to work. also the full speed cable would work better anyway for you, much faster and like 10 bucks, I might have an extra

I have this problem on my deck whenever i go back a track or restart a track. Im not sure what its from but it will skip and restart the song like you said. I avoid this by pushing pause then play again whenever i restart a song. Hope this helps.
