Alpine HD radio issues.

About 3 months ago I picked up a TUA-T550H for my 9887. The issue I had from day one was it would work then stop. This could be fixed by either turning the truck off and back on or unplugging the HD unit and hooking it back up. It stopped doing this for a while so I shrugged it off. Now the unit doesn't work at all. I was reading some Crutchfield reviews and it appears there are others having this same issue. One even mentions Alpine has a software update for the unit. Anyone else heard of this? I was debating on getting this unit fixed and possibly switching to SAT radio. How clear is SAT radio compared to the HD?

take hd module back or get repaired

sat radio is crystal if you get the brain box (like the hd box ) or get an ant direct addapter either way it is hooked directly to h/u

you can run both though do not have to choose

Yeah, what I was looking at was the add on box from Alpine and then the DEI box with antenna.

Yeah, what I was looking at was the add on box from Alpine and then the DEI box with antenna. Does the antenna have to be mounted outside the truck? I think the one I was looking at was magnetic.
