Alpine for beginner

I am acquireing some money soon and want a pounding system.It is goin in the bed of my nissan frontier king cab.A friend is going to make the box for me because he is doing it for his senior project.Now the hard part.I have been thinking about

(2) 12/15" power acoustik mofos.

(2) alpine type r.12"

If i were to get the alpine subs would i be able to run a MRD-M1005 and power both of them.?I want to keep it in the area of $800.Are boss amps n e good .If so which should i run?What about power acoustik.If there are any reasons to why a certain amp will not work it would be sweet if you could explain why so i can educate myself.

first don't mess with boss. next you should learn how voice coils and ohms work. that alpine will make a solid amp and might as well go with the same brand and get some type r's. so you want 2 dual 4 ohm type r's so you can wire them in parellel for a 1 ohm load. read the wire config sticky in the wire forum, and go to http://www.bcae1.com

those subs are apples and oranges. a mofo is spl only.type r's are sq/sql. what kind of "pounding" do you want? clean and loud, or dirty fart thumping bass?

yes, it will pound harder than an mofo, u need an TCAB box, and u are good to go. PM spkrman for info on a box. u will be very plz wit that combo

Go with the r's. They will pound hard and get great sound out of them. Just make sure you do a good setup.
