alpine DVA-5205. Please help

Hi, I couldn't find a place that topic fit under so I picked general discussion. I am having an issue with this DVD unit.

I am tring to run this unit threw a CVA-1000 and I can get the dvd unit to power on. It will load and unload a cd and I can hear the fan in the back kick on. I have the remote Eye for it and I am tring to run it as a stand alone. I have the red wire going to key on positive, yellow to constant positive and the black to groud(negitive). My father gave me a cable that goes to the Navigation port in the brain for the CVA-1000 and that is how I can use the monitor to display a picture.

Like I said, I cant get it to power up with the remote. I tried to put a ai-net cable to the input of the dvd player and it will turn on when I put a cd in it, but the cva 1000 will not opperate the dvd player in that configuration. Does anyone have any ideas on why this thing will not power up? Thanks.

I bought it off of ebay from a guy who said it was a display unit in some sterio shop. Claims it works. I can get it to power up and everything when I plug it up to an Ai-net cable, just the cva1000 will now display an image threw Ai-net. The only way to use the cva1000 to watch dvd's is to use the dva5205 as a stand alone unit.

Well, I think Im gonna call it condemed. Does anyone know how alpine does there repair program? Do they charge a set price and then send a reman product or do they charge flat rate price to fix your product? Do you need to send it to them or do you give it to an in town place to fix it?

Does anyone know of a place close to columbus ohio that will do electronic repaires on car audio equipment such as this DVD player? Thanks.

any help? Is there a way to get a wiring schematic for the internals for this model?
