Alpine double din install into 2000 silverado...will it work?

Hey guys, I posted a thread a few days ago about using my stock radio and installing 3sixty sound processor to keep my stock HU. By far everyone told me that its more than I want to get involved with.... especially me, just being somebody who's done this a couple of times.... So looking around I found this HU... what do you think? will it work? will it fit? I dont have onstar, or bose, or navigation.... its your standard run of the mill silverado....

go over to fullsizechevy.com and read in their electrical section itll tell you about using a newer bezzel from a newer nnbs that will make this a simple install...

Polk Audio db6501's in my '08 Silverado...I'm happy with them and you can get them pretty cheap on eBay, Dealer Cost Car Audio, etc.

thanks a lot!! so in order to get a double din HU in, I have to make some modifications? I thought the stock unit is a double din? Plus, The one I want is not navigation, and supposedly made for GM and Chrysler..... any points?

2000 silvy's have a 1.5DIN dash, the 03+ silvy's/avalanches have the double din dash i believe.

I know my '99 Silverado was not doubel din...my '08 Silverado is though.

nbs are 1.5din and nnbs started the dd options n such.... in my silverado i went with cheap cdts and have been more happy with them then i have been with any other speakers.... i have a review on here....

Any luck with this installation? I also have a 2000 silverado. I am wanting to get a 2 DIN HU. I am considering buying the same HU you have. Please let me know how this went...

Any chevy silverado under 2003 do not have a d-din opening its a din and a half. You can fit a d-din in one but requires alot of trimming and fab work. Or buy a 2003 silverado dash, still requires some trimming but not as bad.Then you just have to get it to mount correctly.
