ALpine D310/ H701/ KCE 415i hook up help

I have optical running from the brain to the alpine H701...not sure if this is the reason i cant get the ipod adapter to work...power and remote are hooked up to my 100.4. ground is hooked up to one of my grounds on the car. RCAs are hooked up to AUX in (i did out too) on the brain, and nothing...not sure if there is a setting i have to put the d310 on or what. i went through everything on the HU.

any ideas or anyone with experience
