Alpine CDA-9885

Does anyone have any experience with this HU? I did a search and couldn't find much information. I've been out of the car audio loop for a few years now and will be buying some equipment again. I had a 9835 and loved it, so I'm looking for another Alpine. The 9885 can be had for about $230 on ebay, which is right in my budget. I'm considering buying an Ipod at the same time since it has an integrated Ipod interface (all you need is a cable to hook it up, opposed to the 9835 where you need to buy the interface and all that). Are there any other Alpines you guys recommend? TIA!

The IDA-X001 is a good unit for ipods

the 9885 is nothing (as far as tunability is concerned) compared to the 9835. Save some more, and get the 9887 - this is essentially the 9835 re-made with better DACs and ipod control (for much cheaper).

I think thats what I'll be doing...hopefully it comes out soon.

The cda-9885 is a very good head unit with a super nice screen. I would stick with it except for the fact that I want video. I think I will be getting the kd-avx33 from jvc. back to the cda-9885, it is a great head unit, it's easy to use, has a great screen and top notch Ipod browsing and it sounds great.
