Alpine CDA-9856 W/ Ipod Help

Hey everyone, I got the Alpine CDA-9856 because of its great use with the iPod. So far I'm quite happy with my purchase, but I am still having a small issue.

I have a little over 10000 songs on my ipod, and 625 different artists. Typically, I would just search by artist before I got this head. Now I've noticed that that takes alot of time using the head unit. Its not terribly slow, but I wish it would scroll alot faster. Does anyone know if there is a way to navigate through the artists/songs besides using the good ol' Rotary knob.

As of now, thats the only way to scroll through the iPod. Alpine did help us out a little and but the percentage skip feature on the new '06 line. I don't know if you know about it any, but the 1-6 presets allow you to skip to a percentage of your songs/artists/albums. It comes in handy, and from what I've read, not many people know about it and complain that they have to scroll through everything, when they really dont. Yes, I believe the scroll feature could be a little faster, but not having to mess with the iPod and hiding it every time I leave my car is worth the extra few senconds.
