Alpine CDA-9847 cold weather problem

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but take it easy since I'm new.

I've had an Alpine CDA-9847 in my Honda Civic for a couple months now. I installed it myself near the end of the summer and have had no problems with it until now. Since it's gotten cold outside, the whole unit has been acting up. When I go out in the morning and first start the car, the head unit won't work. Sometimes it'll work but when you press a button it'll turn off and/or restart itself. Other times I'll hear sound but the display won't light up.

Now since I personally wired it all up there legitimately could be a problem with the wiring somewhere. But it's odd that the problems here magically coincided with the cold weather. Any ideas?

i don't think it has anything to do with the weather. I had a 9830 that would do the same thing randomly. I'd get sound but no display and button functions wouldn't work. It was purchased from a dealer and was a demo unit. I took it back. This was back in the summer. IMO i think there is a defect with your HU. I would go back to where you purchased and see what they say.

Check your wireing if you electrical tap there's a possibility 2 wires may be touching or a loose wire
