After resetting your gains you should be fine, but bare in mind that you are giving up virtually all fine tuning by moving to the 9857. The 9855 and 9835 are both excellent units as long as you are not into the kca420 ipod adapter (slow control). Glidetouch is either hated or loved but there seems to be no middle ground. Finding a 9835 new would be next to impossible, and I am leary about purchasing used but that is just me. The 9855 can be found new online but it is in low supply. I think onlinecarstereo.com has a few. Pioneer has some nice HU for 2006. I considered all the HU you mentioned as well as the Pioneer Premier P780MP, P980BT, and the P880PRS. I bought the P880PRS for several reasons, but the main reasons are full ipod control (fast), excellent tunability, and easy to read monochromatic OEL. Besides it was the first available in my area and my old Alpine 9803 had to go. To be honest I probably would have bought one of the other Pioneers had they been released first, but in hindsight I am very glad the best one was released first so that I don't have to second guessmy decision.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Seems that I am rambling so I will shut up now....
