I am wondering if my Alpine CDA-9815 is compatible with the new Microsoft ZUNE MP3 player. I am not sure if I have the hook-ups on the back of my deck. If someone knows could ya please tell me if i can do it?

Also, I DO NOT want to play songs through the radio, I would like it to be a direct link to the back of my deck so I dont lose SQ.

One last thing, I have never had an MP3 player in my car. Does it sound as good as a CD does? Or will I notice any LOSS in sound quality or volume??

Thanks for any information

MP3, for being an audio compression, will make the audio lose quality... it may be very audible or not... usually, i get good results with EAC +Lame MP3 codec...

you could use the AUX-IN cable that is sold by alpine, or make one yourself, but you will be losing quality doing so... i don't think you can adapt your mp3 player to be read directly from the head-unit like alpine does with IPOD and Alpine's Ipod adapter

btw, i love your deck (see avatar lol)... can you post hi-res of it ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

OK so you are saying I need to buy some other cable so that i can directly connect it to the ZUNE?

If so, what is the cable and where can i get it

also, so are you saying that once i directly hook it up it will sound good or not?

is it going to sound about the same as a regular MP3 disc or will i notice a lack of SQ and volume when its directly hooked up to the ZUNE?

Sorry if these are easy qustions, im just wanna make sure cause im not gonna get the ZUNE unless i can hook it up directly in my car.

thanks again,

mick
