Alpine CDA 7998 Won't fit 06 F250...Please help!

I just bought a mint Alpine CDA 7998 and ordered a single din mounting kit from crutchfield. The **** thing wont fit. The dash kit comes with a protruding top bezel that won't allow the Alpine unit to flip out properly. Since the unit is recessed in the dash kit, it stops it from retracting the disance it needs to before it can remember what angle it has been set too.

I am so pissed, this thing looks and sounds awesome. Does anyone have this unit in the newer F250?

you will have to adjust how the radio sits in the kit. usually pretty easy..

The only way is to have it sit outsid ethe detachable bezel. That way it will stick out from the whole kit, but that would be ugly.

i have seen this problem with 7998's and peugeot 206 dashboards

As a last resort, I contacted Crutchfield, then went down to my local shop and it is a losing situation. It won't work on this truck with the dash kit. So up for sale it goes. thanks

i think you're just being too impatient... that's my dream headunit, and many other's as well... it's SQ blows away many currently top of the line hu's and it has just about everything you want and will ever need in a hu... make yourself a mounting kit for it, i've seen people doing this, only took them a few hours and it looked even better than what would with the original car kit... why not give it a try before pressing the flushing button?

it blows away any alpine made after it... it was top of the line of 2002 and 2003, i think... it's a wonderful hu, has no internal power, sounds great and all...

it surely beats a lot of higher end recent hu's... in sound quality and overall...
